I believe music has much more power than just to entertain those who can afford a sit in a concert hall. The practice of music can positively impact the development of not only the individual, but also his/hers entire community. My experience teaching and learning from institutions that were concerned with the development of the students as functioning members of the society as much it was concerned with teaching how to perform any orchestral piece taught me that.
